U16 Hawks Win Gold in Philadelphia
It was a memorable weekend for the Leitrim Hawks U16 Rep B team winning the Liberty Winter Cup Classic 16UAA tournament in Philadelphia.
The Hawks went undefeated in round robin play going 4-0 with wins over teams from the Dallas, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Washington DC area. With a 4-0 record the Hawks went straight to the Championship Final game Sunday afternoon. The Hawks once again met the Texas Tigers in the Final after a hard fought 1-0 win vs. the Tigers in round robin play. It was another close game but the Hawks came out victorious with a 3-1 win to take home the Gold. The weekend was filled with many highlights both on and off the ice. We are very proud of the players and how well they played as a true team with contributions from every team member. Thank you as well to all of the Hawks parents for the support throughout the weekend to make this such an amazing experience for the players. Go Hawks Go!
