U16 Blazers win Gold at Mid Season Showdown
The Kanata Blazers are coming home with the gold from the Capital Mid Season Showdown hosted by the Stittsville Rams.
They went 4-1-0 in the round robin to face the home Stittsville Rams in the semi-finals. It was a very tight game with the rams in the lead 2-1. With 13 seconds left in the 3rd, Kanata Pulled their goalie and scored to tie it up and force overtime! Overtime yielded no goals so off it went to shootout where Kanata scored 1 and blocked all 3 from the Rams. The finals were against league rivals the Osgoode Richmond Romans. Another tight game, but Kanata came out with the 4-2 win and gold medal.
